Descendants of Mitchell SANDERS (circa 1751-circa 1828) and his wife, Susannah SPRINGFROG, who was a full blood Cherokee of the Bird Clan. Susannah was born about 1749 in Talking Rock, Coosawatte Dist., Cherokee Nation. She died after 1820.

Descendants of Ragnar is an extract from my essay on the history of the STANHOPE family, which will attempt to show that such chieftains in Normandy as Hrolf Turstain and Bernard the Dane were descendants of Ragnar Lodbrok, alias Reginheri, the leader of the Viking attack on Paris in 845, who may have been the prototype for the semi-legendary Ragnar Lodbrok. They are proposed grandsons of Ragnar Lodbrok by his son, Ivar.

Thomas Skillings was from Salem and was among the early settlers of Gloucester, MA. His land was near the ancient burying ground. As early as 1651, he had moved to Falmouth (Portland), but had returned and was living in Gloucester in 1658, and that year came back to Falmouth and died there in 1667. In 1658, he purchased the farm at Back Cove from George Cleeves, which he occupied until his death and which was held in the family for many years.
