Parish Register Transcription Society
The Parish Register Transcription Society was formed in April 1999, with the aim of publishing transcripts of Parish Registers and other manuscripts / records from all counties in the UK for use by researchers in family history. These are available on CD or pay-per-view searchable databases online. The Society does not have a subscribed membership but relies on a group of dedicated volunteer transcribers who donate their work for publication. As a non-profit making organisation, all proceeds from the sale of published material are used to fund further transcription and publication projects, with any excess each year being donated to a chosen charity.
