These are the genealogies of the WOODS, WALLACE, McDOWELL (MAC DOWELL) families that immigrated from Ulster (WOODS, WALLACE in 1724, McDOWELL in 1729) and settled on the Pennsylvania frontier. In 1734, the families immigrate to the even more remote frontiers of Virginia. The family tree is then followed as they spearhead the opening of the American frontier from Virginia to Tennessee and Kentucky, and on to Missouri. In Missouri, WALLACE marries a MOON. Driven out of Missouri during the Civil War, the families immigrate to California.
