James S. Russell's an Adventure in Faith
An Adventure in Faith by James S. Russell of Nottoway County Virginia. Russell was born a slave, attended Hampton University and later founded St. Paul's Normal and Industrial School in Lawrenceville, Virginia. He was the first African American to be named Archdeacon of the Episcopal Church. The school still exists today.
