BillionGraves - New York Cemeteries
BillionGraves provides an app for smartphones so that users can take photos of gravestones at any cemetery worldwide and upload the photos to the BillionGraves web site. Users can then transcribe the gravestone information from the photos online. Use of the site is free. You can either earn or purchase extra features such as the "Record Watch" that will alert you when a specific search term of yours comes online. Earn some of these features through participation in the BillionGraves project by uploading and transcribing photos.

New York's City Cemetery on Hart Island occupies 101 acres in the Long Island Sound on the eastern edge of the Bronx. Since 1869, prison labor is used to bury unclaimed and unidentified New Yorkers in mass graves that are inaccessible to the public. The Hart Island Project provides access to information about the burials on Hart Island and tools for storytelling so that no one is omitted from history.

Historical-Data.com contains a database of videos, websites and cemeteries, mostly pertaining to Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. Includes many cemetery and gravestone images, most of which are from the northeastern United States. This database, which you can browse in the cemeteries section, currently contains more than 64,400 images of gravestones, wills, obits and photos from 568 cemeteries organized by country, state, and county. Many cemeteries have interments with no tombstones so we have been adding other info in the form of obits, wills, war records etc. because there is no other record of their burial there. Also, Kentucky, New Jersey, New York, and Virginia.
