Statewide recording of vital records is as follows.
The New York Department of Health, Vital Records Section, Genealogy Unit has:

Birth records since 1880, but compliance with the 1880 law was slow so many events were not recorded.
Marriage records since 1880, but compliance with the 1880 law was slow so many events were not recorded.
Death records since 1880, but compliance with the 1880 law was slow so many events were not recorded.
Divorce records since 1847 have been handled in the Supreme Court for the county
