Digital State Archives - Florida
Florida has some of the oldest European settlements in the US, and the records to prove it. Their state archives go back to the days of Sir Francis Drake, and include online copies of original Spanish land grants. This is a collection well worth exploring, even if you're not quite sure if your family tree has spent any time basking in the Florida sun.

Sponsored by the University Library of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, this is a a digital publishing initiative that provides Internet access to texts, images, and audio files related to southern history, literature, and culture. Currently DocSouth includes sixteen thematic collections of books, diaries, posters, artifacts, letters, oral history interviews, and songs.

Materials are taken from archives, special collections, and libraries of the eleven state universities which make up the SUS.
