South Armagh Genealogy Project
SAGP aim to construct a dedicated website for genealogy for the South Armagh region. This will not contain any actual genealogical records but will show the visitor what genealogical information and sources are available and where they can be accessed. It will include a central database for genealogy sources for the South Armagh area. This will give links to other websites with a similar interest. We will conduct a number of case studies on famous (or indeed infamous) residents or on historic events in the South Armagh area. SAGP will be organising a number of genealogical tours in the South Armagh area. These tours would visit places and people/groups of interest to local genealogy. We will produce a number of interpretative panels for some graveyards in the South Armagh area. We will identify a number of historic graveyards and produce an interpretative panel at the entrance and this would detail the history of the graveyard and also an index and map to the headstones in the cemetery.
