Main Line Genealogy Club

A club devoted to the study of families settling and living on the 'Main Line' area of Pennsylvania. Today the Main Line is another name for the western suburbs of Philadelphia along Lancaster Avenue (Route 30) and the Pennsylvania Railroad mail line, extending from the Philadelphia city limits to about Malvern covering an area of about 200 square miles. The principal townships comprising the Main Line are (from east to west) Lower Merion Township, Haverford Township, Radnor Township, Tredyffrin Township, Easttown Township, Malvern Borough, East Whiteland Township, and Charlestown Township. The counties covered include Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties.

Our mandate is to research, document and preserve the heritage of the communities of Mainland South which we interpret broadly to mean that region of the Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, from Armdale to Pennant. This region has a rich history and includes former farm lands, fishing communities, military establishments, quarries, and the sites of pioneer industrial enterprises. Our mandate includes the communities of: Armdale, Bear Cove, Coote Cove, Duncan's CoveFerguson's Cove, Halibut Bay, Harrietsfield, Herring Cove, Jollimore, Ketch Harbour, Kline Heights, Melville Cove, Northwest ArmPennant (East & West), Portuguese Cove, Purcell's Cove, Sambro, Sambro Island, Spryfield, York Redoubt.

Malheur Country Historical Society

The Malheur Country Historical Society serves to keep the memories of Malheur County and the surrounding area alive and bring people with this common goal together. Some of its projects include maintaining historical sites, gathering oral histories, preserving antique photos, and developing the MCHS History Book, which is full of biographies of the citizens that made and are making this area what it is today. The meetings take place in Ontario, Oregon, which is located in Malheur County. Many of the members are from all over the Treasure Valley, which is essentially a cluster of cities in Eastern Oregon and Western Idaho.
