The Luso-Hispanic World in Maps

The Luso-Hispanic World in Maps: A Selective Guide to Manuscript Maps to 1900 in the Collections of the Library of Congress includes cartographic objects depicting portions of five continents prepared by cartographers from Spain, Portugal, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, various countries of Latin America, and the United States, among others. This group of materials also contains a small number of views and scenes. Thus these maps and views collectively represent different national and political interests and perspectives, at various periods of time.
