It provides researchers with the tools to study their ancestors. About 10 percent of its holdings are South Carolina materials; the balance is from the other states and many countries. The Heritage Library is one of the most comprehensive in the region, with a vast collection of thousands of books, hundreds of rolls of microfilm, thousands of microfiche, hundreds of CD-ROM databases, vertical files, and video tapes. The library is happy to answer genealogical & other enquiries from the public about past members of the Inn, as long as they are made in writing. Membership lists exist from 1521 & call records from 1650. Up to 1889 these records have also been conveniently printed. The surviving records of Barnard's Inn & Staple's Inn are also held.
