The preamble to the Constitution of the Female Hebrew Benevolent Society: "In all communities the means of alleviating the sufferings of the poor are considered of high importance by the benevolent and the humane. The original subscribers, members of the Hebrew Congregation of Philadelphia, and citizens of the United States and of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, sensible to the calls of their small society, and desirous of rendering themselves useful to their indigent Sisters of the House of Israel, associated themselves together for the purposes of charity; and in order to make the benefit permanent, adopted this Constitution."

Israel Genealogy Research Association (IGRA)
The Israel Genealogy Research Association (IGRA) is the revival of a genealogy society that has been in existence since 1999. This site currently hosts more than 700,000 records for Israel accessible with a bi-lingual search engine. The records relate to time periods of the Ottoman Empire, British Mandate and State of Israel. There are also articles and recorded webinars on a variety of genealogy topics as well as resources for researching on Israel and additional geographic areas. The site requires free registration. Membership allows researchers access to scanned images (when available) and the complete resource library.

Jewish Family History Foundation
Works to preserve, acquire, translate and disseminate Jewish records from the archives and other repositories in eastern Europe. The major ongoing project is putting the 18th Century censuses of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania/Kingdom of Poland into an online database. Translating early 19th Century Russian revision lists on which Jewish families first had surnames, to serve as bridge records to the 18th Century lists where families did not have them. Provides support to family history researchers who establish groups to study the history of their ancestral towns and family origins.
