The Prussian province of Ostpreußen was the eastern-most province of Prussia, being bordered by the Russian Empire on its south and east. To its north was the Baltic Sea and Westpreußen was to its west.  Today, the northern part of Ostpreußen, known a Memel, belongs to Lithuania. The central area belongs to Russia and is known as Kaliningrad. The remainder belongs to Poland and may be identified by the districts Bialystok and Olsztyn.
