Napoleonica Les Archives - The General Correspondence of Napoleon
From his birth up to his death in exile on St Helena, Napoleon wrote about 40,500 letters. Over the period running from 2004 to 2018, the Fondation Napoléon published 15 volumes of known or identified letters by Napoleon Bonaparte. Volume one, 1784-1797, contains 2,283 letters, in addition to which a further 300 have been discovered since publication, and they are consultable on this site. In 2023, the totality of the General Correspondance will be put online on Napoleonica® les archives.
