Genealogy Jamboree - Cumberland Gap Tennessee
Each year on the second Saturday in June (and two days leading up to that Saturday) we hold a Genealogy Jamboree at historic Cumberland Gap, Tennessee. This Jamboree consists of living history demonstrations; such as civil war, frontier, and Native American re-enactors, craftsmen; such as basket and doll making, and trade work; such as soap making and a black smith. Lectures by nationally known speakers will be given on subjects such as how to research your family

Institute of Genealogy & Historical Research (IGHR)
The Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR) provides an educational forum for the discovery, critical evaluation, and use of genealogical sources and methodology through a week of intensive study led by nationally renowned genealogical educators. Students choose one course that lasts throughout the week. Topics range from a course for beginners to a variety of courses on specialized topics. IGHR is hosted by the Georgia Genealogical Society (beginning 2017) with courses and accommodations taking place at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel on the University of Georgia campus in historic Athens, Georgia. Begun in 1962 at Howard College (now Samford University) in Homewood, Alabama, this academically and professionally oriented institute is one of the oldest and most prominent genealogical institutes in the nation and regularly enrolls over 200 students from around the country.

The Annual Malad Valley Welsh Festival is located in Malad, Idaho, in the SE corner of Idaho. Malad Valley has the largest per capita concentration of people of Welsh ancestry outside the country of Wales itself. At this festival, there are classes on genealogy, family history, along with demonstrations on Welsh cooking and dance. There are concerts in the park, along with poetry, a film festival, a parade and fireworks and many more cultural activities.
