New York City Genealogy: St. John's Burying Ground, Transcription of Tombstones
Transcription of a newspaper article from 1892 that gave the names of those persons whose names were listed on tombstones, then found in St. John's burying Ground. This burial ground was soon to be converted into a park. 10,000 persons were said to have been buried there and though St. John's Chapel was part of Trinity Episcopal Parish, burials were open to all denominations.
