The Violette Registry was created by the Violette Family Association and is used to identify and document those who can trace their ancestry to Francois Violet. The initial genealogy research was done by Rita Violette Lippé, which she published as The Descendants of Francois Violet. Her work was used to start the initial database that Rod Violette created and expanded for many years. Initially, the Violette Family Association's focus was on conducting triannual family reunions, but with a waning interest in reunions, the association changed its focus in 2018 toward genealogy.
