Archives and Manuscripts Collections
Contains nearly 70,000 linear feet & comprise more than 7000 individual collections. These collections reflect the collecting scope of the Center, namely, the history of Texas, the Southwest, the South, and the Rocky Mountain West, the history of the University of Texas, congressional history, & specific national-in-scope topics, including media history & the history of the professional touring entertainment industry.

Benson Latin American Collection
Nearly 900,000 books, periodicals, & pamphlets, 2,500 linear feet of manuscripts, 19,000 maps, 21,000 microforms, 11,500 broadsides, 93,500 photographs, & 38,000 other items from & about Latin America, & on materials relating to Latinos in the US. Latin America is here defined to include Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean island nations, South America, & areas of the US during the period they were a part of the Spanish Empire or Mexico.

More than 35,000 printed & manuscript maps which date from 1513 to the present. These cartographic resources depict many geographic areas throughout the world, but their special strengths relate to Texas, the U.S. South, the U.S. Southwest & Mexico.
