Bureau of Land Management - General Land Office Records
The Official Land Records Site for the United States. This site has a searchable database of more than five million (1820-present) Federal land conveyance records, including scanned images of those records. There are also images related to survey plats and field notes, dating back to 1810. The site does not currently contain every Federal title record issued for the Public Land States.

This free site contains searchable data for over 216,000 land grants issued by the state of North Carolina from 1663 to 1960, including around 12,000 grants issued for what is now Tennessee. Over 36,000 grants are linked directly to an image of the page in the corresponding Land Patent Book where the land description was recorded. For Mecklenburg County, over 5,000 grants are linked to over 28,000 high quality images of original warrants, surveys and other related documents. Over 28,000 high quality images of Mecklenburg County NC land grant documents, along with searchable data for 33,000 grants covering Anson, Cabarrus, Catawba, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Rowan, Tryon, and Union Counties.
