Metro New York Computers and Genealogy Group
The MetroNY Genealogy & Computers Special Interest Group (SIG) began as a joint effort of the New York PC Users Group, the New York Macintosh User Group and the NY Metro Area PAF Users Group. Founder David M. Kleiman led the group for 20+ years, educating both new and experienced genealogists on the use of technology for their research. In the last few years, GENSIG has welcomed a new relationship with the New York Genealogical & Biographical Society. Meetings are hosted at their offices in midtown Manhattan.

New York Genealogical & Biographical Society
The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, founded in 1869, is the oldest genealogical society in New York and the only one that is statewide. It produces the quarterly journal The Record and the quarterly review The New York Researcher; it offers education programs and partners with other organizations through the New York Family History School; and it provides a rich collection of online resources for its members. One of the principal genealogical reference libraries in the United States. The collection consists of more than 75,000 books, 1,300 periodicals, some 30,000 manuscripts, and nearly 22,000 microforms, as well as computer media.
