Sponsored by the University Library of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, this is a a digital publishing initiative that provides Internet access to texts, images, and audio files related to southern history, literature, and culture. Currently DocSouth includes sixteen thematic collections of books, diaries, posters, artifacts, letters, oral history interviews, and songs.

The Kentucky Digital Library is built to enhance scholarship, research and lifelong learning through the establishment of access to shared digital archival collections in the state of Kentucky. Collections and subsets of collections selected will have a strong Kentucky orientation as well as broad appeal on geographic, content and study levels. The materials will be unique or not widely available.

Louisville and Nashville Company Records
From the University of Louisville Libraries Digital Collections. Chartered in 1850, the Louisville and Nashville Railroad was a major contributor to the development of the southeastern United States. The growth of the steel industry and the development of the eastern Kentucky coal fields were in fact dependent upon the services and financial support of the railroads, including the L&N.
