Recommendation for long term archival preservation of our photos and documents, allowing for possible sharing, enlarging, and publishing/printing later:
- TIFF format
- At least 600dpi for photos
- At least 300dpi for documents, 600dpi preferred
- 600dpi is recommended for publishing in print
- Save the TIFF without alteration
- Make copies from the TIFF for alteration or sharing online in JPG or PNG
