BCG Education Fund

The BCG Education Fund, founded in 2000 as an independent non-profit charitable trust, advances the educational aims of the Board for Certification of Genealogists® by funding learning programs consistent with standards promulgated by the Board and by providing incentives for study and scholarly research in accordance with the Board’s standards.

NOKfinders Academy

NOKfinders (pronounced knock finders) Academy is where members develop and build their forensic genealogy skills by working on live cases. Cases include Unclaimed and Missing Person cases. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to follow GPS and high ethical standards. NOTE: the cases do not require genetic genealogy.

ProGen Practicum

The ProGen Practicum is a program that has been developed and implemented annually since 2021, by its founder, Jan Joyce. The objective of the program is to help prepare participants for certification through BCG by practicing the main elements of the BCG portfolio. Mixing a combination of techniques, the program aims for significant improvement for each participant from giving and receiving peer reviews as well as receiving individual mentor feedback.

SLIG Academy for Professionals

Take your professional skills to new heights with the SLIG Academy for Professionals, designed for those working in the genealogical industry, and those seeking to become professionals. Receive in-depth instruction from top genealogy educators actively working in the field. Engage in course topics such as business management, public speaking, writing, teaching, forensics, and project management. Professional roundtables, networking opportunities, and learning assignments enhance daily class participation. The Academy will begin with a commemorative event in honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and feature roundtable discussions, a closing luncheon, and the chance to research at the nearby Family History Library.

University of New Haven - Forensic Genetic Genealogy Certificate

The online graduate certificate in Forensic Genetic Genealogy provides individuals in either the public or private sector with the foundational concepts and application of both genetic genealogy and traditional genealogy to forensic investigations.
