The BCG Education Fund, founded in 2000 as an independent non-profit charitable trust, advances the educational aims of the Board for Certification of Genealogists® by funding learning programs consistent with standards promulgated by the Board and by providing incentives for study and scholarly research in accordance with the Board’s standards.

NOKfinders (pronounced knock finders) Academy is where members develop and build their forensic genealogy skills by working on live cases. Cases include Unclaimed and Missing Person cases. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to follow GPS and high ethical standards. NOTE: the cases do not require genetic genealogy.

The ProGen Practicum is a program that has been developed and implemented annually since 2021, by its founder, Jan Joyce. The objective of the program is to help prepare participants for certification through BCG by practicing the main elements of the BCG portfolio. Mixing a combination of techniques, the program aims for significant improvement for each participant from giving and receiving peer reviews as well as receiving individual mentor feedback.
