Books We Own List

Books We Own is a list of resources owned/accessed by individuals who are willing to look up genealogical information and e-mail or snail mail it to others who request it. This is a free service - volunteers may ask for reimbursement of copies and postage if information is provided via snail-mail.

DAR Patriot Index Volunteer Lookup Service

The DAR Patriot Index contains names of Revolutionary patriots, both men and women, whose service (between 1775 and 1783) has been established by the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution. Additional information available may include: dates and places of birth and death, name(s) of wife (wives) or husband(s), rank, type of service, and the State where the patriot lived or served. If pension papers are known to exist, that fact will be included.

Mocavo - Genealogy Karma

Mocavo has created a resource that is modeled after Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness. Designed to give people the opportunity to volunteer and help one another with genealogical research favors.

Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness

The volunteers of this movement are agreeing once per month to either videotape cemeteries, etc., or to visit county courthouses in the county (or area of a country) they live. The cost to you would be reimbursement of costs incurred in granting your request (video tape, copy fees, etc.).

This wiki is an effort to reconstruct and revive the Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness site that was created by Bridgett Schneider and which became dormant with her death in the fall of 2011. Hopefully, the previous volunteers will find the site and supply contact information so that the wiki volunteer pages can be as robust as they once were.
