Archives nationales d'outre-mer
Heir to more than three centuries of history, the Archives Nationales d'Outre-Mer preserves two large groups with different administrative and archival backgrounds: the archives of the Secretariats of State and ministries responsible, from the 17th century to the 20th century, for the French colonies; archives transferred from the former colonies and from Algeria at the time of independence, between 1954 and 1962, excluding management archives remaining in the countries concerned.
