Finding Aids
Finding aids are tools created to help researchers locate items in historical societies, libraries, archives, and museums. They explore the catalogs, special collections, manuscript collections, local history collections, etc. Finding aids describe collections, the history of the items within, how to locate them, and how to use them. Finding aids go by many different names: pathfinders, collection guides, catalogs, indexes, and more.
