Newsletter of the Genealogy Club
of the Metuchen Edison Historical Society
1999-2000
A Message from Jim Conlon, President
I am pleased to report that the Genealogy Club's new Open Workshop format is working extremely well. We do not take minutes, we just discuss genealogy. During the meetings, long-term members continue to share information and find they also get new ideas. New Members ask interesting questions, get answers, and share their research with the group.
The Big Subject, of course, is the Internet where dozens of websites have opened to make genealogists' work much easier. Even the Mormon library has opened it's doors to the Internet. The printed issue of the Newsletter lists many Internet Resources. Hope you will try every one of them.
In the coming year we will continue with Open Workshop meetings and encourage newcomers to attend. Monthly workshops are not limited to discussions of topics listed on the next page. Topics are offered only as guides, and meetings are open to all sorts of discussions. Also, please be assured that conducting Open Workshop meetings does not preclude the possibility of inviting good speakers. We welcome your suggestions.
