Hannover was a Prussian province in the northwest area of Germany. The Netherlands and < a href="https://www.cyndislist.com/germany/states/oldenburg/">Oldenburg were to the west, the north was bounded by the North Sea and Schleswig-Holstein, the eastern border was shared with Mecklenburg-Schwerin, the provinces of Sachsen and Brandenburg.
