Descendants of Simon Peter BELONGER (1810?-1883) and his nine children, including the infamous Lou BLONGER, the Bunco King of Denver. Part genealogy and part historical chronicle, the site hopes to revive long-forgotten incidents and reunite families involved in Colorado's Trial of the Century in 1923. The Colorado State Archives is a primary repository for Colorado State Penitentiary and Reformatory records. Researchers can find biographical information about particular inmates, as well as information about their crime, sentence and parole or pardon. Mug shots exist for most penitentiary inmates. Since the Colorado State Archives is also the repository for governors' records, researchers may also be able to find Executive Pardons and governors' correspondence concerning corrections matters.
