  • National Society of Women Descendants of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company

    This Genealogical organization, founded in 1927, of the Women Descendants of the Ancient & Honorable Artillery is made up of lineal descendants of the 24 Founders of 1637 and for all members of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company between 1638-1774. For lineal descendants of the General court of Massachusetts Bay when the Charter was granted in 1638, namely, the Governor, the Governor's Council and for the Deputies to the General Court of 1638. Also included in the Ancient and Honorable society of women descendants are lineal descendants of the Clergymen who were invited to preach an Annual Election Sermon.

    Confederate Genealogy (lineage) research, self help and professional service, particularly for NC families but serving all Southern families, provided by the NC Sons of Confederate Veterans lineage organization.

  • Order of Lafayette

    American enlisted men who served in France or in French possessions during World War I or World War II, and who were commissioned later are also eligible for membership in the Order of Lafayette, as well as commissioned officers and non-commissioned officers of the French Foreign Legion. Membership in the order is also open to all recipients, regardless of rank, of the Medal of Honor or the French Medaille Militaire who served in France or French possessions during World War I or World War II, and are admitted as members without having to pay dues to the Order. All lineal descendants, male or female, of original members, or those who would have qualified as original members, are eligible for full membership in the Order on reaching the age of twenty-one years. Membership is also extended to all American military personnel who served in close conjunction with French forces in Operation Desert Storm, Kosovo, Afghanistan, or the Somali coast. Service may include liaison officers, translators, training, special operations, as well as combat.

    The objects of the ORDER OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR are patriotic, historical, and educational, and shall include those intended or designed to perpetuate the memory of those men and women who rendered honorable service for their country, to promote fellowship among their descendants; to inspire them and the community-at-large with a more profound reverence for the heritage, deeds, and memory of our ancestors; to encourage historical research; to acquire and preserve the records of their individual services, as well as documents, relics, and landmarks; to mark the scenes of the fallen soldiers by appropriate memorials; to celebrate the anniversaries of the prominent events of their time period; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institution of freedom.

  • Order of Washington

    A candidate for Hereditary Membership in the Order of Washington must be approved by the Council and must be lineally descended from a man or woman who served during the lifetime of George Washington, from February 22, 1731/2 to December 14, 1799, as a soldier, sailor or civil officer of the several Colonies or States, of the confederated colonies or of the United States of America or as a recognized patriot supporting or providing material aid to the cause of American Independence.

    The Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States is the nation's oldest Civil War society, founded April 15, 1865 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by Union officers who pledged their loyalty and allegiance to the Federal government in the dark hours following the assassination of President Lincoln. The contemporary Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States perpetuates that tradition, promoting popular interest and scholarship in the Civil War and Abraham Lincoln.
