What's New on Cyndi's List?
New Links Submitted in October 2009
- As new links are submitted to me via the Submit a New Link form, they will temporarily be added to a page of uncategorized links for that month.
- The links are added automatically by a computerized script that runs each night. They appear *exactly* as they were submitted by the visitor. The links are also forwarded to the CyndisList Mailing List through the automated script.
- Once I place these links in their permanent home on various category pages on Cyndi's List, I will remove them from these uncategorized pages.
- New links are added to the individual category pages on Cyndi's List as we have time to visit, verify and examine each web site.
- You can identify new links and updated links on Cyndi's List by looking for either of these graphics:

- Armenian DNA Project
Open to all Armenians. The Armenian DNA Project is an important resource for Armenians researching their family history as well as their deep ancestry through genetic testing. DNA testing can be a valuable tool for people with different surnames in determining whether they are genetic cousins, particularly considering the destruction of many Armenian genealogical records and the fact Armenian surnames were often based on the father’s first name, his city of birth, his occupation, or a distinctive human characteristic. By reaching thousands of years into the past, this project also aims to find genetic traces of both the ancient peoples whose descendants make up the current Armenian population (Armens, Colchians, Hattians, Hayasa, Hayk, Hittites, Hurrians, Kaskians, Luwians, Mitanni, Mushkis, Pala, Phrygians, Urartians, etc.) and the ancient invaders who conquered or passed through the Armenian lands (Assyrians, Gamrik-Gimirri-Cimmerians, Greeks, Parthians, Romans, Scythians, Macedonians, Medes, Persians, etc.) This project is open to individuals with direct paternal ancestors (Y-DNA) or direct maternal ancestors (mtDNA) of Armenian ancestry.

- Latitude 54 Photography
Are you researching your family history? Would you like to see where your ancestors lived, the church they were married in or even where they are buried?Do you live outside Ireland and need something photographed? Do you have Ulster Scots / Scotch Irish ancestors? Is your family tree just a series of names and dates? A photographic record of these unseen places may be just what you need to give your family tree some depth and get a feel for how your ancestors lived. Having researched my own family tree I have realised how important actually seeing an ancestors home etc can be and then recording this scene with photographs for future generations. I can undertake to photograph anything (within reason) in most parts of Northern Ireland which may help in your family history research.

Dr. Henry Louis Gates has said, “Knowing about the past reveals more about the present. Knowing about your ancestors teaches you more about yourself.” So far, I couldn’t agree more….
