Cyndi's List - FAQ For those new to genealogy and/or the Internet
New to genealogy:
- Visit the Beginners category on Cyndi's List.
- Visit the "How To" category on Cyndi's List. There are many links there to sites with an abundance of helpful information. See the "Getting Started" section on that page.
- Be sure to visit your local LDS Family History Center. You can find them listed in the yellow pages under Churches. The volunteers there are wonderful and will point you in the right direction.
New to the Internet:
- For anyone who is new to the Internet I would like to suggest my own book which was written after teaching classes for my genealogy society and our local Family History Center. The book began as a handout written for these classes. It is meant to be a resource for anyone who is new to the Internet and also has many tips & tricks useful for people who have been online for a while as well.
