East Anglia Geographic DNA Project
For anyone whose paternal (YDNA) OR maternal (mtDNA) ancestry traces to the southeast region of England, historically known as East Anglia. Goals include establishing family relationships through genetic matches where surnames don't match but a common geographic origin in East Anglia has been established & determining origins of geographic surnames based on East Anglian place names. Mapping the distribution of project member haplotypes and haplogroups & looking for correlations between mapped haplotype/haplogroup distributions with known or presumed Angle, Dane, Roman and/or pre-Roman population centres.

Family Tree DNA - Armenian DNA Project
Open to all Armenians. The Armenian DNA Project is an important resource for Armenians researching their family history as well as their deep ancestry through genetic testing. DNA testing can be a valuable tool for people with different surnames in determining whether they are genetic cousins, particularly considering the destruction of many Armenian genealogical records and the fact Armenian surnames were often based on the father’s first name, his city of birth, his occupation, or a distinctive human characteristic. By reaching thousands of years into the past, this project also aims to find genetic traces of both the ancient peoples whose descendants make up the current Armenian population (Armens, Colchians, Hattians, Hayasa, Hayk, Hittites, Hurrians, Kaskians, Luwians, Mitanni, Mushkis, Pala, Phrygians, Urartians, etc.) and the ancient invaders who conquered or passed through the Armenian lands (Assyrians, Gamrik-Gimirri-Cimmerians, Greeks, Parthians, Romans, Scythians, Macedonians, Medes, Persians, etc.) This project is open to individuals with direct paternal ancestors (Y-DNA) or direct maternal ancestors (mtDNA) of Armenian ancestry.

Family Tree DNA - Carpatho-Rusyn DNA Project
The Carpatho-Rusyn Heritage DNA Project welcomes all males and females of Carpatho-Rusyn(C-R) heritage, a distinct group of people that live or once lived in portions of the Carpathian Mountain range. Their region is comprised of what is now South-Eastern Poland, Transcarpathia, Northwestern Slovakia, and a small pocket in Vojvoidina. Their region, called Galicia, was ruled by the Austro-Hungarian Empire from 1772 until 1918. Starting in 1880 many C-R people immigrated to the United States and Canada. Those in SE Poland {Lemkos} suffered various misfortunes. Some were sent to the Talerhof concentration camp during 1914-1917, and post WW-II most Lemkos in SE Poland were involuntarily relocated to Western Ukraine between 1944-1947 - the remaining Lemko population was forcibly removed between 1947-1948 and relocated to Western Poland during the Vistula Action. Carpatho-Rusyns are sometimes known as Carpatho-Russian, Carpatho-Ukrainian, Rusnak, Ruthene, Ruthenian, Uhro-Rusyn--all relate to their traditional association with the East Slavic world of the Rus'. In Poland they refer to themselves as Lemko/ Lemko Rusyn.

Family Tree DNA - Devon DNA Project
The Devon DNA project is a Y-DNA and mtDNA geographical project for everyone with a direct paternal or maternal ancestral line originating in Devon, England. DNA testing can be used to verify existing research and to link together families where there is no surviving paper trail. The only requirement for joining the project is that participants must have a documented paper trail to Devon on the direct paternal line for the Y-DNA test or on the direct maternal line for the mtDNA test.

Family Tree DNA - Lippe Detmold, DE
The scope and purpose of this Geographical DNA Project is to offer help to those reseachers who can either trace their ancestral roots to, or currently live in what was the former Principality of Lippe. Although there is a German DNA Project, the Lippe Detmold Project is designed to offer a more confined geographical area of research. Currently Lippe consists of roughly 481 square miles, this is walking distance. I originally started a DNA SURNAME PROJECT, which I still administer. Due to the German practice of changing surnames with the transfer of real-estate, either by purchase or inheritance through a female spouse, this project made sense to me. Historically Lippe has existed as a country since 1123 and was once an independent state within the Holy Roman Empire, later, it was incorporated into Prussia. Lippe was elevated to the satus of Principality from 1789 to 1949, it is now part of the state North Rhein-Westphalia. In the 19th Century 20,000 people from Lippe emigrated to the the Americas, mostly to the United States and Canada.
